MPT Receives Contract From Missile Defense Agency To Continue Development of Phased Array Subsystems

(Murrieta, CA) 6/22/2019 -- Microwave Packaging Technology, Inc., a company that supplies phased array components and systems, today announced that it received a another contract from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This contract is to continue development of phased array subsystems that support the MDA mission. Dr. Rick Sturdivant, founder and CTO of MPT commented that, "This work further demonstrates the value we are adding to the MDA mission. We are very excited that the MDA has chosen us to perform this critical work for them." MPT is developing an advanced subsystem for MDA phased array radars. The goal of the system is to reduce costs by 50-70% with 2X improvement in key performance metrics. The $2.5M program culminates in a subsystem demonstration.

MPT Receives Key Order From Harris Corporation

(Murrieta, CA) March 27, 2019 -- Microwave Packaging Technology, Inc., a company that supplies phased array components and systems, today announced that it received a contract from Harris Corporation to develop and produce a wide band microwave hybrid component for a communication system. The component leverages the MPT ability for high levels of integration and electronic signal integrity in X-band and Ku-Band. "The component also fits into our product offerings for such as amplifiers, filter modules, and switch components," said Dr. Rick Sturdivant, the founder and Chief Technology Officer at MPT. Another important aspect to this product is that it is scheduled to begin volume production early in 2020.

Dr. Sturdivant also commented that, "this product for Harris also demonstrates our commitment to support space qualified products and our focus on supporting phased array radar systems." The company continues to develop products, subsystems, and systems for phased array radar and communication.

MPT Announces SAR Radar Research With Azusa Pacific University

(Fullerton, CA) 8/15/2018 -- Microwave Packaging Technology, Inc., a company that supplies phased array components and systems, today announced that it has an ongoing research effort with Azusa Pacific University and a few of its faculty to develop Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) solutions for airborne and space applications. Several faculty and students at the university are providing research and development support. One of the applications is an Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (iSAR) for detection of drones. Dr. Rick Sturdivant, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at MPT, said that "this research relationship benefits MPT and APU and we value the results." MPT Announces Joint Research Project With Azusa Pacific University

(Fullerton, CA) 5/15/17 -- MPT Corporation announced a research effort with Azusa Pacific University (APU) to develop technologies for the detection of drones and UAVs. The technology has to potential to be a low cost method to detect and discriminate drones from other targets such as birds. "This is a significant advance in our radar and remote sensing capabilities," says Dr. Rick Sturdivant, Founder and CTO of MPT. The research will be directed by Dr. Enson Chang who is an Assistant Professor at APU. The radar leverages an existing X-band sensor and uses signal processing for discrimination.

MPT Receives HUBZone Certification by the US Small Business Administration

(Fullerton, CA) Microwave Products and Technology (MPT), an innovation leader in custom RF semiconductor and module solutions, today announced it has been certified as a HUBZone Business by the US Small Business Administration. The company was already certified as an American Indian Owned business.

MPT specializes in custom microwave and millimeter-wave electronics products such as transmitters, receivers, up converters, down converters, and antennas that operate in frequency ranges from 5 to 120GHz.

MPT also offers custom MMIC and integrated circuit development service for frequencies from 5-120GHz. MPT designs integrated circuits in GaAs, GaN and SiGe. MPT is also currently developing GaN MMICs on a Navy contract and a SiGe integrated circuit on an Army contract.

The program’s benefits for HUBZone-certified companies include competitive and sole source contracting and a 10% price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions, as well as subcontracting opportunities.

MPT Receives $2.85M Contract From US Army For Low Cost MMW Radar System

(Fullerton, CA) MPT announced today that it was awarded a $2.85M contract from the US Army for the development of a general purpose radar system operating in the millimeter-wave range (over 30GHz). That radar system is useful for multiple applications such as mapping foliage and high resolution ground imaging. "This program is a significant win for MPT since it will increase our radar system and sub-system capabilities and add to product portfolio," said Rick Sturdivant who is President of MPT. According to Curtis Hanz, VP of Engineering at MPT, “This is a validation of our product solutions and our technology.” Mr. Hanz will be leading the effort on this program for MPT.

MPT Recieves US Army Radar Development Contract

(FULLERTON, CA) MPT received a follow contract for the development of a software defined radio system. This phase of the program includes hardware demonstrations and production design release of the product.
