(Fullerton, CA) 5/15/17 -- MPT Corporation announced a research effort with Azusa Pacific University (APU) to develop technologies for the detection of drones and UAVs. The technology has to potential to be a low cost method to detect and discriminate drones from other targets such as birds. "This is a significant advance in our radar and remote sensing capabilities," says Dr. Rick Sturdivant, Founder and CTO of MPT. The research will be directed by Dr. Enson Chang who is an Assistant Professor at APU. The radar leverages an existing X-band sensor and uses signal processing for discrimination.
