Transmitters

What is a Transmitter? Simply put, a transmitter converts a base band signal to the required output frequency and amplifies it to the required output power level. The output of the transmitter is connected to some type of radiating element such as an antenna. The input to the transmitter is usually a base band signal that contains information such as a digital, voice or both.

There are many different ways to implement a transmitter. Often the most difficult portion is the output amplifiers. The figure below shows a block diagram of a simplified transmitter.

MPT has developed several different transmitters up to 40 GHz. This includes some very high power output amplifiers with more than 30W of output power at Ku band frequencies.
