Having the ability to use multiple EM simulators helps our customers win because it allows verification and comparison of simulation results.
Electromagnetic Simulation
MPT has multiple electromagnetic (EM) simulation platforms. This is important because it allows us to apply the right type of simulator for the particular product or circuit be simulated. For instance, we use High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) for antennas, electronic packaging, and as our general 3D finite element (FEM) tool. However, for MMIC design, we use Axiem and EMsight since they are more efficient and are tied directly into our IC design software. We also have Analyst, which is a 3D electromagnetic simulator.
Having the ability to use multiple EM simulators helps our customers win because it allows verification and comparison of simulation results. This increases our confidence and helps ensure first pass success for design releases of integrated circuits, modules, and subsystems.
