(Mission Viejo, CA-December 6, 2021) MPT today announced the award of another LNB contract win—different customer and different frequency band from the LNB contract win announced this summer. The new contract is to develop low noise
blocks (LNBs) for a strategic customer and to produce the associated downconverters in production. This win continues to build upon MPT’s existing LNB product line and will enable the customer to meet critical system deliveries.
Low Noise Blocks (LNBs) are a critically important component in most any satellite communication system. They provide the amplification and noise performance that allow the antennas to achieve the required G/T which is a major performance metric for satellite ground stations.
“MPT continues to make advances in LNB capabilities and products and this contract win is another step along the way to our overall plan for LNBs,” said Dr. Rick Sturdivant, President of MPT. He added, “On this contract, MPT will deliver LNBs and the production units in a follow-on contract expected later in 2022.”
The LNB business of MPT is part of its module products which include LNBs, BUCs, Transmit/Receive Modules, Up/Down Converters, and custom modules.
MPT specializes in phased arrays. It helps wireless and aerospace companies with their phased arrays using antenna AND electronics. MPT provides solutions from 0.5 to 50GHz. Its array solutions are appropriate for communication systems such as 5G and satellites as well as radar systems. For more information, visit mptcorp.com.
