Rick Sturdivant

Founder and President

Dr. Sturdivant brings 32 years of experience in developing products for both commercial and military markets. He started his career at Hughes Aircraft Company (acquired by Raytheon) in 1989 where he developed MMICs and the world's first phased array tile module for which he was awarded the engineering excellence award. He also worked for Multilink developing modulator drivers for optical telecom. He holds seven U.S. patents and has eight pending. He has published more than 50 journal and conference articles on various aspects of engineering including phased arrays, antennas, microwave circuit design, and T/R module packaging. He is author/co-author of several books including Microwave and Millimeter-wave Electronic Packaging (Artech House, 2013), Transmit Receive Modules for Radar and Communication Systems (Artech House, 2015), RF and Microwave Electronic Packaging II (Springer Publishing, 2017), and Systems Engineering of Phased Arrays (Artech House, 2018).

Dr. Sturdivant is a recognized expert in the field of system design of phased arrays, transmit/Receive (T/R) modules for phased array radar and communication systems, and electronic packaging. He has been an invited speaker to IEEE local chapters such as the local MTT-S chapter in San Diego, CA and the joint MTT-S and AP-S in Baltimore, MD.

Luanne Ruddy

Director of Program Management

Luanne brings 30 years in program delivery, integrated business planning, and operations for both commercial aviation and military satellite / aviation programs. She has led numerous multi-million-dollar programs at United Airlines, Gogo, Inc. (now Intelsat), and Atlas Space Operations. She was Director of Operations/Chief of Staff at Gogo where she established and led the Operations Program Management Office (OPMO). She earned a B.S. degree from Miami university and is a certified Program Manager Professional (PMP). All program management personnel report to Ms. Ruddy who serves as program manager on key programs at MPT.

John Mortensen

Director of Engineering

Mr. Mortensen has 35 years of experience in engineering. His specialty is in microwave and millimeter-wave modules and subsystems. He earned a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnical University at Pomona and is Ph.D. (ABD) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. While at MPT, Mr. Mortensen has executed the development of several successful products including a X-band/Ku-Band down converter module for a radar project, a X-band FMCW module, a 35GHz T/R module, and a phased array receive module at S-Band. Mr. Mortensen oversees the engineering resources at MPT.

Edward W. Ray

Chief Scientist

Mr. Ray has 28 years of experience in engineering. His specialty is in applied electromagnetics and cyber security. He earned a B.S. from Rutgers with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He also holds advanced certifications in cyber security including the CISSP and CSM. Mr. Ray has designed numerous GaAs and InPh integrated circuits from 2 to 94GHz and module products from 2-40GHz. Mr. Ray directs all integrated circuit development and is responsible for the technology roadmap for all microwave and millimeter-wave product developments. He also serves as the company expert in integrated circuit design.
